Nik Stamps, born in the 1980’s and grew up in the ‘Digital Age’ of the 90’s. It was at the perfect time to be trained in traditional photography but still join the digital revolution for photography. Nik’s Mother was an Art History Major and helped stimulate his mind in all things creative and historical. He started with point & shoot pictures and entered movie making, beginning with Super-8 film strips. His love of history lead him into writing and directing his first full length documentary about his hometown, Roxborough & Manayunk in 2005. It was a huge success locally and sold over 5,000 copies with many showings and press about it. 

Nik Stamps has always been creative and loves to work in any style of art, from video and photography, painting, and his love of writing. Growing up in the MTV generation, his true passion has always been music videos. Movies are the only art form which encompasses every other kind of art medium. A poem can be a concentrated form of what a book is about, in the same way that a music video can be to a movie. So with this idea Nik has pursued creating music videos in order to fully express his love of all things creative. Nik has directed over 15 music videos including a series of wedding music videos for clients. Along with his 45-minute documentary, he has completed many photographic projects for clients and businesses. He recently launched a channel on YouTube with a collection of his comedies, music videos and documentaries, which has been viewed in 141 countries.

Nik Stamps is a digital artist but tries to maintain a balance of keeping up with the new ‘High Definition Age’ with a traditional approach. Currently he spends his time between music videos and photography for hire. He is pioneering a new style of photography by filming in HD video and using this video footage to extract the perfect picture from that footage, which is possible thanks to new technology.
